So it’s all well and good thinking about what we are putting into our bodies, and how good it would be to make sure that we only put homemade, natural, unprocessed things into our bodies, but what about what we put onto them? (I’ll get started about cleaning stuff later)
This is without doubt the best thing I ever discovered for my skin. Now turmeric does have numerous health benefits that I will get into on later blogs, but it did come as a bit of a surprise that it has such an immediate effect on the skin. It shouldn’t really be a surprise; it has been an integral part of Indian women’s skin care regime for hundreds of years. If you look online you’ll find various different permutations for face mask, but I can honestly say that this is the best one. I have tried this out now on loads of people, including men and all of them have said how soft their skin felt, especially the next morning. I think for maximum anti-aging effects you should be aiming to do this three times a week, but for those of us who can’t manage that, whenever is possible is still has amazing effects. And let’s not forget, it costs next to nothing, so you won’t care about trying to make it last.
This recipe should make enough for a couple of applications. I keep one covered in the fridge for a day or so until I want to do the next one. It only seems to make it more effective, if anything, especially as it is nice and cold.
One tbsp natural (organic if possible) yoghurt
One tsp turmeric
One tsp (raw if possible) honey
The juice of half a lemon. (It must be fresh lemon juice)
Mix it all together and apply to a clean face. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, and then rinse off.
A word of warning though- Rinse it off thoroughly, and watch what you wear, it stains!
